BUSY BEES ๐Ÿ WHY WE CAN SLOW DOWN AND GET AHEAD!

...And everyday the world will drag you by the hand and yell this is important! And this is important!! You need to worry about this and this! And this! And each day itโ€™s up to you to yank your hand back, put it in your heart and so no THIS is important.
— Ian Thomas

My husband and I were on our first trip overseas.

We had virtually no agenda, no to do's and no communication with our daily lives, yet we were hauling ass on the streets of London. We realized we had grown conditioned to rush, to move faster, to get out of the way.

I stopped and said "hell no big daddy, we are gonna slow down and check this place out ok!"

We ended up rowing a boat in a lake smack dab in the center of the London, fighting jet lag, yet blissfully invested in that moment. Our mindfulness and willingness to slow down opened up room for a long lasting positive memory. Score! On that trip we went to cafes, salons, restaurants, train rides, beaches, boutiques, you name it! Everywhere we went had a positive influence on my business. In London, I fell in love with a boutique salon concept Taylor & Taylor. Each location was unique to its neighborhood and had its own certain vibe. I was Uber inspired. I was able to apply that inspiration to my own stores and really develop our brands style in each market, and set ourselves apart from our peers. For me getting ahead is finding your own authentic style & voice.

Rest and adventure are two fundamental elements for me to get in my creative zone. It's not easy when the world is telling you to do more, move faster, don't stop! I think we have to take more time to explore, drink all the coffee, take all the pictures, to keep us going when the daily pace of our lives are at warp speed!

Rest easy busy bees, everything will be there for you when you return.
